This tour takes you to one of the most unspoilt regions of the Dominican Republic. You’ll explore Barahona, travel to Laguna de Oviedo and spend the night at the stunning Cabo Rojo. The itinerary
Day 1
Welcome
After the welcome meeting, you’ll collect your hire car and set off on your road trip. Shortly after setting off, the route takes you past vast sugar cane fields and into a varied landscape. Once you arrive at your accommodation, you can wind down the day in a relaxed atmosphere.

Day 2
Discover Barahona
Today is yours to spend as you wish. The region around Barahona is one of the most unspoilt areas in the country and offers plenty of opportunities for exploration. We’d be happy to recommend some great activities!
Day 3
Laguna de Oviedo & Cabo Rojo
Today, the journey takes you along a spectacular coastal road to Oviedo, where the impressive freshwater-saltwater lagoon is tucked away. You have the option of taking a boat trip to discover the fascinating wildlife: iguanas, flamingos and countless birds are waiting to be spotted (boat trip not included). In the afternoon, you’ll arrive at your extraordinary glamping hotel right on the idyllic beach of Cabo Rojo.

Day 4
The idyllic beach of Bahia de las Aguilas
Today, a real Caribbean highlight awaits you: you’ll take a boat trip to the breathtaking Bahía de las Águilas beach – a snow-white beach that ranks among the most beautiful in the world. Enjoy a few relaxing hours in the crystal-clear water and soak up the sun. Round off the day with a delicious dinner, right by the sea.
Day 5
Azua
After breakfast on the beach, we’ll head further east. Today, a very special place to stay awaits you: a newly opened glamping hotel with spectacular sea views, an infinity pool and unique accommodation – far away from mass tourism, yet offering the utmost in comfort. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool or exploring the nearby La Caobita beach.

Day 6
Caribbean Desert & Return Trip
On the way back to Santo Domingo, it’s well worth making a detour to the impressive dunes of Baní – the largest desert landscape in the Caribbean. Here, the Dominican Republic reveals yet another side of itself. Just a few minutes’ drive away lies the small fishing village of Las Salinas, where salt is still extracted from the pans in the traditional way at a traditional salt mine. You then continue on to Santo Domingo. Depending on your itinerary, you can return your hire car at your destination or at the airport – or extend your trip to suit your own plans.
